Winter Connectivity Bonus now permanently in charge structure
With the changeover to the 2024 summer season, an adjusted charges structure will come into effect at NUE Airport.
An important adjustment has taken place that many have been waiting for: the permanent introduction of the winter connectivity bonus. Previously only approved for the last two winter seasons, the bonus is now a permanent part of the fee structure.
How does it work?
Airlines offering regular, permanent passenger services to NUE during the winter season will receive a 25% discount on the take-off fee. Permanence means that the route in question is offered (at least twice a week) for 16 full calendar weeks during the IATA winter season with the flight schedule that has been realised in calendar week 47. The average load factor on this route must be ≤ 90%. No application is required, the bonus is automatically granted at the end of the winter season. The bonus can also be combined with the Blue Ocean Bonus (BOB) for new routes in a two-stage calculation: first the BOB discount is applied and then the winter connectivity bonus.
Here is an example calculated for one departure in W24: It is assumed that airline A has been offering a new route since the S23 season. For the W24 season, they will be in BOB Year 2.
