FAQ on parking with ALPR

Which area is affected exactly?

The "Kiss & Fly" area (marked in yellow in the image below) begins after the entrance to Parking Garage P2, or already at the turnoff to Gate 1. Once you are back on the exit road behind the first row of buildings (Parking Garage P2, Mövenpick Hotel, former Parking Garage P1, and the rental car garage), you have left the “Kiss & Fly” zone.

How is my parking time monitored?

When entering, your license plate is scanned, and again when exiting. The time between entry and exit is used to calculate the parking fee.

What do the cameras record besides my license plate?

Only a still image of the license plate with date and time is captured to determine the parking duration. No video recording takes place. License plate reading is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR. If no parking violation occurs and payment is made before leaving the parking area, the entry and exit data are automatically deleted. 

Do I always have to pay at the machine before exiting?

If you leave within the free parking period of 8 minutes, there is no need to go to the payment machine. 

How do I pay for my parking?

Go to one of the parking machines and enter your license plate number. The amount due will be displayed. You can pay in cash (not at all machines) or cashless. Please note that overpayments cannot be refunded. Alternatively, payment can be made online at https://parken.mh-parkservice.de/. 

What happens if I accidentally leave the area without paying?

What payment options are available on the website?

You can pay by credit card, instant bank transfer (Sofortüberweisung), Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Link. 

How does free parking work for people with disabilities or electric vehicles?

Please scan the QR code located at the charging stations or designated disabled parking spaces and follow the instructions provided. 

Can I still park a motorcycle or scooter for free in the designated area near Parking Garage P1?

Yes, two-wheeled vehicles are automatically recognized and do not have to pay a parking fee.
