Highlights

The old town of Olbia, also known as "Sa Rodea", is a picturesque neighbourhood that has retained the charm of times gone by. Here you can stroll through the winding alleyways, admire historic buildings and discover local craftsmanship. Piazza Margherita, the main square in the old town centre, is a popular meeting place with cafés and restaurants that invite you to linger.

Olbia is proud of its historical remains, including the 4th century Roman Basilica and the Roman Baths, impressive remnants from Roman times. These archaeological sites offer a glimpse into the past and tell the story of the region's ancient settlement.

The spectacular nature around Olbia is another highlight of the region. The coast of Olbia offers kilometres of unspoilt sandy beaches such as Pittulongu Beach or Porto Istana Beach, where you can enjoy the sun and swim in the crystal-clear water. For nature lovers, there is also the rainforest area of San Teodoro, a protected landscape with hiking trails and a variety of flora and fauna.

An excursion to the nearby islands is a must during a visit to Olbia. The islands of Tavolara and Molara are a nature reserve and offer beautiful beaches and opportunities for snorkelling, diving and sailing.
