Pristina added to the flight schedule
With Pristina, a further destination in Southeast Europe is now reachable from Nuremberg. From 2 April, the Bulgarian airline GP Aviation will fly twice a week to the Kosovan capital with a Boeing 737-400. Fun fact: Some of the passengers will be flown to Kosovo and back by the owner and managing director, the Swiss Ganesh Piga, himself.
The new non-stop connection is especially interesting for the Kosovar community in the metropolitan region, who will use it for visiting each other's families, friends and relatives. Around 45,600 people with Kosovar nationality live in Bavaria, more than 2,300 in the city of Nuremberg alone. Likewise, the non-governmental organisation AWO Nuremberg (Workers' Welfare Association) has been active in Kosovo since January 2007, since March 2009 even with its own office in Pristina. Returning families from Germany are supported there within a reintegration project.
Pristina also has a lot to offer for individual tourists: the national library "Pjetër Bogdani" with its 99 domes and its unique architecture as well as the Illusium, a museum of illusions.
Pristina is the 15th European capital to be added to the flight schedule of Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg. The airport is thus continuing to expand its route network to Eastern Europe. In addition to GP Aviation, three other airlines will be flying to a total of five destinations (Banja Luka, Belgrade, Skopje, Tuzla and now Pristina) in the Balkans this summer. This means that the strongest Eastern European flight offer ever from Nuremberg is now available.
GP Aviation is well known in Southeast Europe: Last year, the airline transported a total of over 170,000 passengers to and from Pristina. Tickets are available at www.prishtinaticket.net from 90 euros per person.
