Start of the season at Nuremberg Airport
Corendon Airlines’ second aircraft, even more flights and Podolski snacks on board
The summer flight schedule at Nuremberg Airport begins on 27 March 2026, coinciding with the Bavarian Easter holidays – and Corendon Airlines is launching its second aircraft. Travellers from the metropolitan region will benefit from an even wider selection of sunny destinations and even more connections.
The holiday airline’s second aircraft based in Nuremberg will provide additional capacity and greater flexibility within the busy summer timetable. The base strengthens the long-standing partnership between the airline, the airport and the city of Nuremberg, whilst creating additional jobs and generating regional economic value.
Diverse summer programme: 14 popular sun destinations non-stop
For summer 2026, Corendon Airlines is offering one of the most extensive holiday programmes in recent years from Nuremberg. Corendon destinations include Hurghada in Egypt, the Greek islands of Corfu, Kos, Heraklion on Crete and Rhodes, as well as Mallorca, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. Fuerteventura is now also being offered by Corendon Airlines in the summer, with up to three weekly flights. Added to these are Antalya, Izmir, Kayseri and Adana in Turkey. Corendon Airlines thus serves both classic beach destinations and key connections to Turkey, which for many families in the region represent a link to their homeland.
New culinary options on board: partnership with Lukas Podolski
A highlight at the start of the season is the airline’s partnership with ‘Mangal Döner’, the dining concept created by football star Lukas Podolski and professional chef Metin Dag. From February 2026, the airline will offer new in-flight products on selected routes, such as lahmacun, a popular Turkish street food.
Airport Managing Director Dr Michael Hupe: “Our passengers will benefit from Corendon Airlines’ further expanded summer schedule. The deployment of a second aircraft is a strong signal for our location.”
Christian Hein, Head of Sales & Marketing at Corendon Airlines: “Corendon Airlines aims to become the airline of the people’s hearts in Nuremberg. We want to be the first choice for all flights to the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and Egypt.”
Strong start to the holiday season
At the start of the holiday season, the airport expects around 240,000 passengers, who will have a choice of around 60 non-stop destinations. In addition, there are worldwide connecting flights via the major hubs.
