Autumn Holidays

Around 140,000 Passengers Expected – Highlight Egypt

During the Bavarian autumn holidays, up to 140,000 passengers are expected at Nuremberg Airport. Up to 950 take-offs and landings are planned. The top holiday destination remains Antalya in Turkey with more than 23,000 passengers, followed by Hurghada in Egypt with over 13,000 and Mallorca with more than 10,000 travelers.

The autumn holidays also mark the start of Nuremberg Airport’s winter flight schedule, featuring over 40 direct connections – including an especially strong offering for Egypt fans. New in the program: Sharm el-Sheikh, which will be served for the first time starting November 4. Hurghada is more present than ever with up to 20 weekly flights. “Our passengers can look forward to a winter full of sun, color, and culture,” says airport managing director Dr. Michael Hupe. This makes the autumn holidays the perfect conclusion to an exceptionally strong fall. Since the end of the Bavarian summer holidays, Nuremberg Airport has welcomed 15 percent more passengers compared to the same period last year.

Other popular holiday regions are also on the schedule: The Canary Islands, Italy, Greece, and Turkey offer ideal destinations for mild temperatures and Mediterranean flair. For city travelers, major metropolises such as Barcelona, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Istanbul are available – perfect for a winter shopping weekend.

In Eastern Europe, Wizz Air has expanded its offering with new destinations in Romania such as Timișoara and Brașov. Additional connections lead to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria.

For those already dreaming of summer: Many holiday destinations for 2026 are already bookable – information is available at travel agencies and soon on airport-nuernberg.de.
