Spielwarenmesse 2026

Airlines boost capacity for the world’s biggest toy fair in Nuremberg

The Spielwarenmesse, the world’s biggest toy fair, will take place from 27 to 31 January 2026 and will once again attract numerous international trade visitors from more than 60 countries. Nuremberg Airport is the most important gateway for arrivals and departures for this event. Several airlines have significantly increased their capacity for the week of the fair.

Air France will fly to Nuremberg 24 times a week during this period, offering a significantly expanded service to Paris and better connections. Lufthansa is increasing its frequency to the Frankfurt hub to 32 flights per week and is increasingly using larger aircraft such as the Airbus A321 and A320. Turkish Airlines is expanding its services with two Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft, which will make travelling to the fair particularly comfortable for international participants.

Christian Ulrich, spokesman for the executive board of Spielwarenmesse eG, points out: "There are many ways for participants to travel to Nuremberg for the Spielwarenmesse. Nuremberg Airport offers a convenient option. We are particularly pleased to once again have Turkish Airlines as a strong partner at our side, facilitating travel from all over the world with attractive flight connections and exclusive trade fair discounts. This cooperation underlines the international significance of the Spielwarenmesse and offers our guests real added value."

Airport managing director Dr Michael Hupe also emphasises the importance of the trade fair week: "The Spielwarenmesse is one of the most important trade fairs, attracting visitors from all over the world. The expansion of capacity by various airlines underlines its international appeal. We are delighted to be able to offer our guests a particularly comfortable and time-efficient journey."

From the airport, visitors can quickly reach the main railway station on the U2 underground line, from where the U1 takes them directly to the central entrance of the Nuremberg exhibition centre in just a few minutes. The strong advertising presence of many well-known toy manufacturers, from baggage reclaim to the outdoor area, gets guests in the mood for the world's largest toy fair as soon as they arrive, as numerous exhibitors have rented advertising space at the airport.
