easyJet Launches First-Ever Flights from Nuremberg to London, Manchester & Milan

New airline partner for the Nuremberg metropolitan region:

easyJet takes off for London, Manchester and Milan for the first time

Nuremberg Airport and travel enthusiasts are welcoming a high-profile new addition and airline partner: from November 2026, the British airline easyJet will begin operating flights from the metropolitan region for the first time, strengthening international connections to key European hubs through efficient direct flights. The main destination is London Gatwick, which will be served regularly in future. In addition, during the world-famous Christkindlesmarkt and major trade fairs, the airline will supplement its flight schedule with services to London Luton, Manchester and Milan.

Strategically important: better connections to the UK and northern Italy

easyJet’s entry into the market will provide attractive new direct connections for both business and leisure travellers. Travellers from the metropolitan region will benefit particularly, as will visitors from the UK and northern Italy, who can now reach Nuremberg with ease. For the trade fair industry, a direct connection to Northern Italy and the UK is of strategic importance, as these countries are among the top contributors in terms of both exhibitors and visitors. It also makes local global players more attractive to foreign specialists, as it offers employees a quick connection to their home countries.

“With easyJet, we are welcoming one of Europe’s best-known and most successful low-cost airlines to Nuremberg. This sends a strong signal about the appeal of our location and is a boon for travellers to and from England and northern Italy,” emphasises Dr Michael Hupe, Managing Director of Nuremberg Airport. “The new routes to London, Manchester and Milan are of great importance both for city breaks in both directions and for our region’s economic ties. We are confident that this service will quickly become established and hope to be able to expand it further in the future together with easyJet.”

Focus on London: Boosting travel in both directions

easyJet also sees great potential in the new Nuremberg base. Stephan Erler, Country Manager for Germany at easyJet, explains: “With Nuremberg, we are connecting the seventh German airport to the easyJet network and expanding our German offering to include an economically strong and touristically attractive destination. It was, in particular, Nuremberg’s significant tourist potential during the winter months that prompted us to make this commitment. The city and region can look forward to additional tourists from the UK and trade fair visitors from Italy. At the same time, the region’s catchment area has strong momentum of its own and a high demand for European city breaks. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the region’s connectivity with our new direct routes and, as at all our locations, we are monitoring market developments closely to best meet passenger demand. The launch is certainly a positive sign for the connectivity of the entire region.”

easyJet is one of Europe’s leading low-cost airlines and, with a fleet of over 355 aircraft, offers an extensive route network with more than 1,200 connections across 38 countries. The focus is on efficient point-to-point flights between major cities, economic regions and popular holiday destinations. Travellers benefit from attractive fares, flexible additional services such as baggage options, seat reservations and Speedy Boarding, as well as simple digital booking via the website and app. easyJet therefore stands for modern, value-for-money travel in Europe.

Growth for tourism and the hospitality sector: easyJet holidays expands its offering

Thanks to the new direct connections between Nuremberg and major European hub airports, travellers can now book flexible package holidays through easyJet holidays that combine flights and hotels. easyJet holidays offers a choice of over 6,000 accommodation options across Europe, ensuring that attractive holiday packages will soon be available for all new destinations from the region. All bookings include both flights and accommodation and can be secured with a deposit of just €75 per person. Furthermore, easyJet holidays is actively expanding its inbound hotel portfolio through partnerships with the local Nuremberg hospitality industry. This ensures that the local hotel sector can benefit directly from the increase in international guests during the peak Christmas travel season.
