Turkish Airlines, NürnbergMesse and Airport Nürnberg have signed a Letter of Intent in Istanbul as basis for a strategic cooperation. The agreement provides for Turkish Airleines to receive the status as `Preferred Carrier´ of NürnbergMesse starting in 2013. The two principal shareholders of the exhibition company and the airport, the Free State of Bavaria and the City of Nuremberg, both expressly welcome this development. Details of the marketing partnership are to be worked out within the next weeks. The cooperation, which was particularly promoted by Dr. Markus Söder, the Bavarian State Minister of Finance, Deputy Chairman of the Board of NürnbergMesse and Member of the Board of the airport, was signed on the occasion of the minister’s visit to Turkey. `With this partnership we have succeeded in setting up an ideal cooperation for Nuremberg as a business location. With its successful trade fairs NürnbergMesse offers professional platforms for successful business operations in Nuremberg and throughout the world. Turkish Airlines provides quick and safe connections and Airport Nürnberg offers effective services to business travellers´, the Minister of Finance said. `This commitment will open up many opportunities to all participants´, the managing directors of the airport and the exhibition company stated.
