Traffic Balance 2009
– Attractive New Destinations Summer 2010

Venice and Nice are some of the highlights among the summer destinations offered as direct flights from Airport Nürnberg. For business travelers the new flight schedule (valid as of March 28, 2010) offers a considerable increase in capacity for the national German route network. ‘This provides us with a good basis to catch up with our growth plans after a year of crisis-induced reductions,’ Managing Director Karl-Heinz Krüger says. In 2009 passenger numbers dropped by 7.1 percent to 3.970 million flight passengers (previous year: 4.274 million).

For the new year 2010 there are indications of a market recovery. Owing to the strong partnership with Air Berlin the summer flight schedule offers attractive new nonstop destinations: amongst them Araxos and Kalamata in Greece as well as Heringsdorf on the Baltic isle of Usedom. The Italian prime destination Rome will be on offer again this summer, but also Milan with ideal daily fringe connections for business travelers and trade fair visitors.

In addition to this, other attractive direct connections have been planned as summer specials during the high season: Venice and Nice will be serviced by Air Berlin twice a week between July and September. Moreover there will be extended offers to Split in consideration of seasonal requirements.

Istanbul, one of this year’s European Cultural Capitals will be serviced daily by Turkish Airlines and twice a week by SunExpress.

Higher seating capacities on national German routes provided by Lufthansa and Air Berlin will offer even greater flexibility to business and private travelers at low initial rates.
